If I started an organization with a proven way to prevent carbon dioxide emissions - would you contribute?
I’m thinking of starting an environmental organization. I would accept contributions and in turn would reduce carbon emissions / reliance on foreign oil in a MEASURABLE way.
For your contribution, your business would be entitled to bear my seal on all your promotional products. It would say something like We’ve reduced carbon emissions by 150,000 lb. by contributing to ….
This is NOT a carbon offset / carbon credit thing.
But if I showed you that your $10 contribution would save 1800 kwh of electricity and therefore reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2,500 lbs would you contribute?
Not a greenie? What if I showed you that the kwh savings would reduce the consumption of foreign oil by a measureable amount. Would you contribute?
I just want to get feedback on this idea.
Thanks.

I know the HOW. I’m just not revealing because i want to play my cards close at this point and I don’t want anyone abusing this idea. Yes, there is a definite HOW. It will make sense to anyone with a brain.
No, it will not benefit the donor, it will benefit the nation and the environment. The positive press / public image will benefit the donor.
No flyboy, this is real. Thermodynamics??
Really, it’s not that difficult.

Well for one thing people will want to know HOW you’re going to reduce carbon emissions for one thing. How do you prove it. And it your going to prove something how will you scientifically support you answers? And you have to remember for a study to be scientifically accurate is has to be impartial and not sponsored by private interests.
And another problem, paying $10 to save 1800kwh of electricity is great, but does it actually save the person paying the $10 the 1800kwh of electricity? If you can’t show someone that it will save them money/energy and where the energy is being ’saved’ from then you are not really giving them anything but empty words.
So great idea man, but it needs a lot more work on the HOW factor before you start raising money (I’m in a BA program and they teach us the find the weak points in things and that is yours).
I would blog about your organization and promote it
Not a chance.
Figato, you fox. I’ve seen some of your posts and answers before. You’ll not sucker old Flyboy in on this one. You’re too smart to believe that you can really do what you are proposing without violating the laws of thermodynamics!
